Hi, I’m Jaime Bell
a lawyer and entrepreneur who wanted to do things a little differently…
I’m a BC based business lawyer who helps entrepreneurs with big dreams by providing them with the legal support they need to take their business to the next level.
After spending nearly a decade working in law firms across Ontario and British Columbia, working for bigger corporations, things felt stuffy and I wasn’t excited about my clients or my practice anymore.
It was the big office, big business, big lawyer dream -but something seemed off. To be honest, the thought of continuing on the same path for the next thirty years was terrifying. I was convinced I had chosen the wrong career.
So, I took a year off to discover what I really wanted to do and spent time doing things I loved - running, reading, journaling, listening to business podcasts and dog sitting (seriously). I considered becoming a career coach for, took a life coaching certificate, and spent time evaluating what was missing and no longer working for me in my law practice. To say I had one foot out the door would be an understatement.
And then it hit me.
It wasn’t what I was doing I didn’t like, it was who I was serving. I didn’t want to help big corporations; I wanted to support entrepreneurs build their dream businesses and lives. I wanted to work with clients with similar values and who I’d love to grab a coffee with. I also wanted to make law accessible, affordable and maybe even…fun?
This is how Wild Coast Law and my e-commerce business, The Contracts Market was born: out of a pure love for helping others and wanting to use my 10+ years of corporate legal experience in a meaningful way.
My mission: To help entrepreneurs feel legally protected and confident in their businesses and even have a little fun doing it along the way.
I currently live on Vancouver Island with my partner, 2 cats, and surprise-to-us dog, Osa. I love to run and hike in the mountains and prefer to start my day with a coffee and end it with an episode of the Bachelor.
I attended Western Law and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011, and to the BC bar in 2019.
